Gavin McGrotty Owner Architectural Conservation is a time served stonemason with over 20+ years industry expertise. He launched Architectural Conservation in 2014 and has since built a growing reputation for delivering quality workmanship combined with a high level of customer service and satisfaction. Gavin is passionate about stone and the industry and uses traditional techniques and the right materials such as lime mortar to ensure all stone masonry works carried out by the firm gives buildings the longevity they deserve. Gavin also provides a Consultancy service carrying out building condition reports that provide in depth detail on a building’s condition, restoration and maintenance work required and the best methods to achieve high quality results and a return on the client’s investment.
About the team
Gavin heads up a team of fully qualified stonemasons who regularly attend CPD Events and Lime and Conservation Courses at the Scottish Lime Centre to develop their knowledge and skillset. The team make the most of their skills and prepare stone on and off site at Architectural Conservations’ stone yard with a real attention to detail. The team work on smaller scale domestic projects such as building and repairing random rubble walls as well as larger projects such as listed building repairs including lintels, chimneys and fireplaces, historic church repairs and on prestigious landmarks including the Wallace Monument.
Gavin and his close-knit team, work with clients to gain a real understanding of their project needs before recommending the best approach, techniques and materials to deliver the very best results.
